On October 26th, author and photographer Eric Mindling will join us at Octavio Paz Gallery to present his book Oaxaca, Stories in Cloth, the result of an ambitious two-year photo documentary of the traditional dressways and the people who continue to wear the singular clothing of their community.

Since 1992, Eric Mindling has lived in Oaxaca, Mexico working with traditional artisans, researching and creating markets for indigenous pottery, writing articles and books about pottery and textiles among other things. For this event he will discuss his experience traveling in the Oaxaca region observing traditional textile practices and communities and will sign copies of his book.

This event is brought to you in collaboration with Friends of Oaxacan Folk Art.
