bOOK pRESENTATION: I WILL SELL YOU A DOG (Te vendo un perro)

Juan Pablo Villalobos (1973) is a Mexican author from Guadalajara, Jalisco currently based in Barcelona. His latest novel, No voy a pedirle a nadie que me crea (2016) recieved the Premio Herralde, a Spanish literary prize. Villaobos is known and avowed for his masterful use of dark comedy and wit and for skillfully mixing literary genres. On February 23rd. Villalobos will be in conversation at the Instituto Cervantes of New York to present “I’ll Sell You a Dog”  (Te vendo un perro) winner of the English PEN award; a novel that narrates the life of an old man in a retirement home who can’t help but misbehave: he antagonizes his neighbors, tortures American missionaries and constantly quotes Adorno. “I’ll Sell you a Dog” is a constant reminder that art comes from real people.
